Considerations for Wheelchair Users

When you are talking to a wheelchair user stay on the same level.They are sitting and you are standing so try sitting beside them or behind them.

Dont ask them if they need help let them ask.

If you were going into a building and a wheelchair user had been or worked there before ask them advice on what room to go to.

If you were bringing a wheelchair user somewhere and there were seats there, don't park them at the back of the room. Ask them where they would like to sit.

If you were wheeling a wheelchair users chair on a path and you needed to go to a shop, put the brakes on so if you were on a slant the wheelchair would not roll away.
