Poetry Page 2000 A spelling lesson
Wanda witch went wandering within aspooky wood she loved to practise spooky spells and hated being good.
Wanda turned some bluebells into smellyslimy goo she gave a tree a creepy face to scare the likes of you. She crept up on a wizard and before he could respond Wanda waved her wand he fell straight into a pond.
Although it was not very deep the wizard soon saw red He cast a spell which made his cloak flap right round Wanda’s head. It wrapped round her body and squeezed her really tight say sorry roared the wizard or stay like that all night. The witch agreed and told him your magic is so fast no more naughty spells for me I’ve really cast my last.

My Dog
I have a little dog His name is Jack When he is itchy He scratches his back
When he is hungry He scrapes the door I fill up his bow And put it on the floor I love him so much That's the right thing to do But I get angry When he chews on my shoe So if you have a dog That's small and cute If he is something like mine Just lock up your shute

MY UNCLE
My Uncle Laurence is from Ballyfermot I think he's a bit of a hermit. He wears baggy ciothes, And hair under his nose. But I can’t really confirm it. No wonder he’s a hippy, He was born in 1960. He’s gone back to school, For once to obey the rule, Personally I think he’s a bit of a fool. If he’s not there, he likes to fish, I’m not sure if he’s really Irish.

Christmas Christmas only comes but once a year It’s a time of love, hope and good cheer Christmas is about gifts, toys and loving each other And treating people like your sister and brother Let’s not forget the true meaning of that day And not forget to thank God and pray Think of the ones who haven’t got a home And the cold damp streets that they roam Let’s give a thought for the old and the sick, And not just the gifts we get from old St. Nick If you can spare a bob or two for the poor, Give generously it’s good I’m sure And give the less fortunate than ourselves A Christmas to remember, On that day the 25th of December.

Wanna Be’s
The Fairy Liquid woman Is nothing like my mother, The milky bar kid is the opposite of my brother, My dad sprays lynx to try to look like the man on the ad, My sister wants to be a Pantene girl But ends up looking sad.

Opposites I'm very little, You're very big. I eat like a mouse, You eat like a pig.
I'm very quiet, You're very loud. I'm always by myself, You're always in a crowd. I'm very good, You're very bad. You're always happy, I'm always sad. I just think we're friends all the same, But people say It won't be long Before our feelings change.

Feather
I wish I were a feather Gliding through the sky, I wish I were a feather Oh so very high.
If I were a feather Gliding through the sky, I'd go higher than a plane Gliding through the sky I wish I were a feather Oh so very high.

WHY?
Why are leaves always green Dad? Why are there thorns on a rose? Why do you want my neck clean Dad? Why do hairs grow from your nose?
Why can dogs hear what I can't Dad? Why are you rude about Aunt, Dad? Why are you going all bald?
Why is Mum smaller than you are Dad? Why can't the dog stand the cat? Why's Grandma got a moustache Dad? Why are you growing more fat?
Why don't you answer my questions? You used to: you don't anymore. Why? Tell me why, tell me why Dad. Do you think I'm being a bore?

Trees. Sitting on my arms, climbing up my body, Children everywhere. But when night falls they’re gone. Morning again . They come to play with me all day, Their favourite tree. Gone, I’m all alone. Morning. They haven’t come, Next day , They’re still not here. Maybe there’s a new tree instead of me.

Slave to T.V. As you watch T.V. You suddenly get sucked in, You don't know what's going on around you. One minute you're watching Brookside, Then Nypd Blue! Sit there for an hour or so, Channels flickering in your head Mum and Dad keep saying,"Get off to Bed!" You're too quiet they don't notice you're there. They make tea and forget about you, But you don't care. One after another: Simpsons, Coronation Street and Pokemon, You haven't got a clue what's on. Suddenly the t.v goes off, You come back to life!

The Nile As I walked along the river Nile I saw scaly crocodile. Winding and twisting through the reeds, Following the course that the river leads. On and on the river goes, Past the pyramids as it glows, Bright blue water flows and flows. The Nile floods just once a year, Making black mud appear, Crops and wheat are grown to eat, Some are good and some are sweet. The River Nile is very long it just goes on and on.
