Lahardane, with home advantage and the benefit of driving showers of rain, raced away to an eight points’ lead, before Killala replied with a goal and a point. The score at half time read 1-9 to 11 for Lahardane. Brian Rowland finished off a move he started himself, with a fine goal. Just after the restart, Killala went on the rampage with 2-4 in the final quarter. Seamus Coleman scored what should have been the winning point, but Killala leveled with a free deep in injury time from their impressive centre-back.
