Lahardane scuttle the Deelsiders

Lahardane took this North Mayo under-16 'B' semi final replay right to the homeside and eventually ran out easy winners.

The response to the winners early three scores was a goal and a point, against a stiff breeze, but Crossmolina weren't to score again over the remainder of the first half. A superb point from Damien Leonard and several more gems from Cormac Rowland left Lahardane 0-8 to 1-1 ahead at the interval.

A resurgent Crossmolina got three points without reply to narrow the gap to one point but that flurry proved to be the homesides final scores of the game. This was attributed to the excellent work of Ray McDermott in defence and the assistance of the other defenders at different stages.

Livewire Kenny Syron landed another Lahardane point followed by a brace of scores from Cormac Rowland.

Further breathing space came with a bullet of a goal from Damien Leonard and any hopes of a Crossmolina revival were dashed by a penalty save by Paul Walsh from Barry Loftus.
