Lahardane G.A.A. club became of age last Saturday evening at Kiltimagh when it captured its first ever county Under-21 football title at 'B' level, defeating Ballintubber with a performance associated with more seasoned sides.

Lahardane had many heroes all over the field but the performance by midfielder James Gillespie was five star. He lorded it over the Ballintubber pair all through the second period. In addition, he landed four great points from frees out of his hands and from play.

He is therefore a fitting recipient of this week's 'Western People' Sports Star award.
