Lahardane began their year with a hard earned win over Ballycastle at Ballycastle.

With the aid of the breeze, the visitors grabbed some fine long range points through James Gillespie from place-kicks and play.

Full-back Francis Bryan spent most of the first half at full-forward and scored two great points.

Ballycastle gave themselves plenty of encouragement by scoring 1-1 in response to Lahardane's 0-10 by half-time.

A lively Ballycastle forward line made the mmost of the supply in the final half.
