General Description
This section starts from Arigna with a steady climb up the slopes of Kilronan Mountain, yeilding fine views back to Lough Allen.
The route sweeps downwards into Keadue, which has for many years been the tidest town/village in Co. Roscommon and which was the overall winner of the National tidy Towns Competition in 1993.
Leaving Keadue, there is a choice between following the Historical Trail towards Boyle or keeping on the Miners Way to Ballyfarnon. Either way, the lovely Lough Meelagh provides a peaceful backdrop.
The Bogside Inn is passed and a final section of fields negotiated prior to reaching Crossna Chapel. |
