The Miners Way
& Historical Trail

Safety

You should prepare yourself for several hours out in the elements - wear or carry warm clothes including hat and gloves. Water and windproof jacket and overtrousers will help to keep you warm, dry and happy! walking boots are essential although the Way follows tracks and roads; however these are rough and muddy in places so some form of stout footwear is recommended. The Way crosses high and exposed hills in places, notably at Corrie and Kilronan Mountains; walkers should be aware of the dangers of mountain hypothermia and will need to take the prevailing weather conditions into account on these sections and perhaps choose an alternative route.
