Boxers first have to fight in competitions in their own countries before they can make it to the Olympic games.
At the Olympic games, boxers are divided into sections according to their weight.
They score points by hitting various sections of the body. There are rules to prevent injury. For example a boxer is not allowed to hit the other athlete below the belt on his shorts.
They also wear lots of protective equipment like mouth guards, head gear and gloves.
