Diving

In the sport of diving, athletes dive off a diving board and land in the pool. There are two boards, high and low.  The high board, called the platform, is 10 metres above the water.   The low board, called the springboard, is three metres above the water. While the divers are in the air, they twist, tumble and turn. Judges give the divers up to 10 points. The more difficilt the dive the more points the diver gets. When the divers land in the pool, they should not make a splash.

At the Olympics Games in Sydney, there was a new diving event called synchronized diving. Two divers do the same dives at the same time in synchronized diving.
