The Lighthouse

Equipment:

We used cardboard, a plastic bottle, a bulb, a bulb holder, two batteries, a battery holder, stiff paper, red, blue, white and brown paint, lollipop sticks, a small clear tub, small stones, two split pins, four wires, one paper clip and insulating tape.

Method:

First we drew our circuit on paper.  Then we asked an adult to cut off the top and the bottom of the bottle. We made a circuit by putting a light bulb into a light bulb holder and connecting two wires one to each side. One of the wires was then connected to a battery which was connected by a wire to a split pin. The other wire from the bulb was connected to the other split pin. The two split pins were stuck into the base of the lighthouse, one with a paper clip wrapped around it.  When the paper clip touches the two split pins the bulb in the light house lights.  We got a large sheet of stiff paper, which we painted red and white and stuck it around to the plastic.  We put the circuit in the plastic bottle and stuck it all in place.  We painted the base blue and stuck the light-house on the base. At the end we put stones around the lighthouse to decorate it.
