Short mat Bowls is the same as lawn bowls but is played indoors on mats that are 45ft
long and 6ft in width.
There is about 3oo or so licensed tournaments over the bowling season which lasts from
September to June, in that time there is the national & zone and league games as well.
People of all ages can play, from 9 to 90 years play.

There is also European and World Championships.
There is 27 Zones (zones are the same as countys but some countys have 3 or 4 zones in them).
Zones cover over 12 countys. There is about 1082 affiliated bowling clubs and clubs have about 20 or more members,
so there is over 21,000 players in the country.
There is nonaffiliated clubs as well in the country (how many, only god knows)
Any one wishing to play bowls all they have to do is go to their local club (there should be a club close by)
