Club History

In the Redeemer community centre in1986, a few people got together and started to play bowls, and soon there was between 50 and 70 people playing by the summer of 1987,

In 1987 Redeemer Indoor Bowls Club was formed and was affiliated to the Irish Indoor Bowling Association and was in the Monaghan Zone, and since April 1995 the club is in the Oriel Zone.

Today the club is one of the strongest clubs in the Oriel Zone with about 30 members who all go to tournaments within the zone. Redeemer runs two tournaments every year, Singles in October and Pairs in April.

The Club has two Official Umpires- O.Farrell. M.McLearnon.

Over the years members of the club have won many tournaments and at the moment has two members going to the Isle Of Man to play in the world championships next year.(G.Crosby, H.McDonagh).

Club members have been picked to play in the mens and ladies zone games every year.

Over the years the club has done well in the league, winning the 12s league 6 times and winning the 6s league 9 times out of 11 years (wining the last 8 years in a row) that the leagues have run.
