More About Oriel Zone
| The Zone was formed in 1995, mosed of the clubs were in the Monaghan Zone, but in 95 Oriel got it own zone and over the last few years more new clubs have joint. |
The Oriel runs 7 trounaments within the zone
Officers Sheld pairs-two committe members of each club (Oriel only)
Zone pairs-In each club names are put into a hat and are drawing out to pair with each other and then play off with the winner going to a final with all the other winners of clubs (Oriel Only)
Zone singles-Each club is to play a member singles tournament in their club and the winner to go to a final with all the other clubs winners.(Oriel Only)
Zone Juniors-Juniors from all clubs play on one night. (Oriel Only)
Zone Triples-This is a open triples to everyone.
P.Martin Rinks-This is a open rinks to everyone.
County Cup-A team is picked from South Monaghan/Cavan area to play against a team picked from Louth/South Armagh.
A zone dinner dance is held every year in March or April were the national and league prizes are giving out to winners.
Within the zone clubs run their own Tournaments there is 29.
The mens zone team got to the s/finals of the Inter-Zone Competition 1998/99 season and hope to do better in the 1999/2000 season.
The ladies zone team had a good run in 1998/99 season and will be a zone to watch in the 1999/2000 season.
