    ADVICE FROM EMPLOYEES TO THEIR MANAGER

  1. Never give me work in the morning.   Always wait until 4 p.m. and then bring it in to me.   The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.

  2. If it's a rush job, run in and interrupt me every 10 minutes to inquire how I am doing.   That helps.   Or even better, hover behind me, advising me at every keystroke.

  3. Always leave without telling anyone where you are going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.

  4. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which one is the priority.   I am psychic.

  5. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this office and really have nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond work.

  6. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret.   If that gets out, it could mean a promotion.   If you don't like my work, tell everyone.   I like my name to be popular in conversations. I was born to be whipped.

  7. Never introduce me to people you are with.   I have no right to know anything.     In the corporate food chain, I am plankton.   When you refer to them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.

  8. Be nice to me only when the job I am doing for you could really change your life and send you straight to manager's hell you toady creep.

  9. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goal SHOULD have been.

  10. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.

All the jobs I've had

My first job was working in an orange juice factory, but I got the sack because I couldn't concentrate.   Then I worked in the woods , but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.   After that I tried to be a tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it. The job was only so-so anyhow.   Next I tried working in a muffler factory, but that was exhausting.   I wanted to be a barber, but I just couldn't cut it.   I attempted to be a deli worker, but any way I sliced it, I couldn't cut the mustard.   My best job was being a musician, but eventually I found it wasn't note worthy.   I studied a long time to become a doctor, but I didn't have any patience.   Next was a job in a shoe factory; I tried, but I just didn't fit in.   I became a professional fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.   I thought about becoming a witch, so I tried that for a spell.   I managed to get a good job working for a pool maintenance company, but the work was just too draining.   My last job was working at Starbucks, but I had to quit, because it was always the same old grind.   After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a historian, until I realized there was no future in it.


Laws Of Work

  1. If you can't get your work done in the first 24 hours, work nights.

  2. A pat on the back is only a few centimeters from a kick in the butt.

  3. Don't be irreplaceable: if you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.

  4. It doesn't matter what you do, it only matters what you say you've done and what you're going to do.

  5. After any salary raise, you will have less money at the end of the month than you did before.

  6. The more crap you put up with, the more crap you are going to get.

  7. You can go anywhere you want if you look serious and carry a clipboard.

  8. Eat one live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.

  10. If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.
