Calligraphy award card

Above: client didn’t want to present a scroll to recipients, so chose a greetings card format instead. Strathmore card blanks and envelopes were used (cream textured, with red “feathery” deckle edge on card and matching envelope). Gold seal was embossed with company emblem and was affixed to card front.

Above: inside the card, a calligraphy “template” was prepared. These were printed on Svecia Antiqua paper, trimmed to size, and were decorated by hand-painting the company’s crest, and adding the recipient’s name in red gouache (name also featured in black sumi ink on the envelope). The President of the University then signed each card.
