Westwood House Hotel

Presentation Piece 4

This (above) is one picture, in a series of seven pieces, commissioned for a newly refurbished Galway hotel. The series of pieces features a biography of famous families and persons associated with the locality. In this instance, actress Siobhán McKenna, is profiled (see sketch to the right of the piece above, and in more detail in sample below).

Italic calligraphy was used for the body text, and half uncial style for the title. Gold foil was also used as decoration in the title (above). Gouache was used for the title and illustration. This piece was written on cream Aquarelle Arches paper (300 g/m²), and measured approximately 50cm x 71cm, and has a deckle edge all round (see sample above).
