" Ancient Rite"

by Eoin Duignan

Traditional piper Eoin Duignan pushes the boundaries of Irish music a little further out on his new CD, Ancient Rite, a collection of original compositions for uilleann pipes and low whistles.
The result is a journey in music - through a misty, late-night drive from Vienna ( Road to Budapest), into the mid-tones of memory and feeling (Ancient Rite), or catching the mood of the present moment as it switches from slow reflection into a sunburst of delight (Angelas's Farewell/Carefree).

" Searc Mo Chléibh"

by Finola Ó Siochrú

Maybe a Dubliner by birth, but her musical heart lies deep in the West Kerry Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne. All the songs on her independently-released album, Searc Mo Chléibh, are as Gaeilge, most are from West Kerry or are in West Kerry versions. Finola posesses a voice of remarkable clarity and purity, almost to pure for sean-nós.

" Coumineol "

by Eoin Duignan

The music of Eoin Duignan is original in a traditional
mode with a strong percussive feel to it, creating
a new and lively interpretation of Irish music.

The casual listener will be drawn as if by magic
to the music´s inner core, entranced by not
only the shapes and turn of melody, but also by
the wellspring of emotion which the various
pieces convey.
Pride, passion, joy and sadness with an underlying
stability combined with his great gift for
composition, makes this album worthy of the
closest attention from all who regard quality
as the primary arbiter of music.
The music on this recording has featured in
documentary programmes on RTÉ,
S4C ( Welsh Television )
and the BBC,
and the album was nominated for the prestigious
IRMA awards.

Eoin Duignans new CD Ancient Rite will be available in June.

´ An Tine Beo ´

by Living Fire

If you had to categorize it, you would file it
under Folk, but there are undertones of
both trad and country running through it.

The singing and instrumentation is perfect
and work very well in the context of the music.
If you have any interest at all in folk music, its
well worth to lay your hands on this Album !

´ Myriad ´

by Gerry O'Connor

" If ever a musician truly "owned" the
instrument he plays, Gerry O'Connor "owned" the
four-string banjo...he is, in every sense of
the world sensational. "
Earl Hitchner

" Sin é " as they say.
Hope you like it.
