Welcome to the Flannery Clan website



The primary objective of the clan is to safeguard the heritage of Flannery / Flannelly descendants world-wide through research and education. We strive to achieve this by compiling a central archive of relevant genealogical and historical information from around the globe, and making this information freely available to all enquirers. We also advise members of the clan who are actively engaged in their own genealogical research. Most recently, we have initiated a Y-DNA project that helps members to trace their roots even when conventional records no longer exist.

The secondary objective of the clan is the development of a cordial focal point to encourage social interaction between members. This includes the compilation of a live register of clan members; the organisation of periodic clan gatherings at frequencies and venues decided by the members; the production of a clan booklet detailing our history; the creation and maintenance of this clan website; the production of quarterly newsletters giving news and articles of interest; and any other means of engendering a sense of belonging within the greater family.

This clan website charts the Irish origins and world-wide progress of the Flannery Clan. The website is continually being developed as more information is obtained, and will never be "finished", so please return periodically to review our progress.
