Visiting Ireland

Welcome to Ireland

Ireland was catapulted into the 21st century by a decade-long economic boom that transformed our sleepy backwater into a bustling beehive at the forefront of modern technology. Despite the distractions brought by boomtimes and downturns, we would like to think that the genuine warmth of the Irish personality has not been eroded, and our world-renowned hospitality remains intact.

There has never been a better time to visit Ireland. Awareness of our cultural heritage is running at an all-time high, and tremendous efforts have been made to preserve the integrity of our culture whilst improving ancillary amenities.

There are many excellent websites that provide tourist information, but the first port of call must surely be the official website of Fáilte Ireland, the Irish Tourist Board. Next on the list is the highly recommended Heritage of Ireland website which provides a wealth of information on the wide range of cultural attractions throughout Ireland. In addition, the major search engines (try Mamma, Google etc.) are adept at providing more specific information on a wide range of topics.

We have been asked by our members to provide some basic tourist info with a bias towards items of interest to Flannerys / Flannellys. As ever, we try to look after our members, so please contact us if there is any other info you would like us to provide.
