YOUNG REBELS IN BLITZ
Young Rebel Jake Warne warms up for the match against Cork County with a lovely drive on the practise wicket`Twenty-two Young Rebels played in an Under-14 Cricket Blitz at the Mardyke, Cork against five other teams from the Munster Cricket Union in May. The young West Corkers did themselves proud in a series of 12-over matches against teams from  Waterford, Church of Ireland, Cork County, Harlequins and Middleton College.  It was the first time the Young Rebels had played in any competition. We had so many keen youngsters that we entered three teams in  the six-a-side Blitz and still had to mix-and-match to give everyone a game. There will be more matches and coaching sessions throughout the summer... Coming soon... Australian test opening batsman, Mark Waugh, comes to Cork.... Stay tuned.
