Guidelines for Parents...last updated on November 23, 2006

These Guidelines are based on courtesy, respect and orderliness.

1. School Hours : 8.50 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. ( Infants only ). 8.50 a.m. - 2.30 p.m. ( 1st - 6th classes). The school is not responsible for children before 8.50 a.m.

2. If your child is absent from school for any reason , please send a note with the child on their return to school. There is no need to phone.

3. Please send a note if you want your child to go home before the official closing time.

4. School uniform should be worn at all times with the exception of P.E days, when the School tracksuit only may be worn instead.

Girls: Navy pinafore / skirt, light blue shirt / blouse, navy tie, navy cardigan / jumper . Girls may wear navy trousers instead of skirt / pinafore if they wish.

Boys: Navy trousers, light blue shirt, navy tie, navy jumper. Note: Navy round-neck jumper ( without tie ) may also be worn. These items are readily available in most Department Stores. Tracksuits, polo shirts and school jumpers (with crest) are available from Rita's School Uniforms in Dundrum Shopping Centre with a 5% discount for items purchased in June each year.

5. It is recommended that your child's name be marked on Uniform, Tracksuit and coats.

6. Try to ensure that your child has a balanced, nutritious lunch.We ask that all pupils bring either a fruit or yogurt snack for first break each day; Gum and crisps are forbidden and unbreakable bottles or beakers should be used for drinks. Fresh milk is available daily in the school through the E.U. Milk Scheme if required.

7. It is reccomended that you check your child's homework on a daily basis. If there are problems with homework, please send a written explanation or call to see the teacher.

8. If you want to see the class teacher for any reason, it is usual to make an appointment. Parents of Infants can usually meet the teacher between 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m.

9. The Principal is normally available to meet Parents from 10.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m. and from 1.00 p.m. - 2.30 p.m., by appointment. Please ring beforehand to make an appointment.

10. In the interest of the safety of our children we would ask parents not to drive into the school grounds when bringing or collecting children from school.

11. If you change your address or phone number, please inform us as soon as possible.

12. Items found in the playground or school building are put into the Lost Property bag. Unclaimed articles are disposed of after 1 month.

13. We ask you to encourage your child to be well behaved at all times, to show respect for others and to treat the property of others with due care.
