Sport has always held a special position of importance for the teachers
and pupils of St. Olaf's down through our twenty five year history. At present
the children may partake in athletics, basketball, hurling, football, unihock,
and olympic handball, all organised by the teachers and often involving
many extra hours after school.
Our school hall is used for indoor activities. We have two outdoor basketball
courts and the use of the many surrounding G.A.A. and soccer pitches. The
local G.A.A.club allow us to use their superb, new leisure centre for indoor
hurling and basketball.
Since 1981, St. Olaf's has contested sixteen school finals in Croke Park & Parnell Park, winning
eight times, four times in hurling and four football titles.
Santry and Belfield Athletic Meetings have long
been a popular and rewarding day for our school.
One of the highlights of every school year is the 'Sport for All' day where
a multitude of sporting events and activities are organised within the school.
