Classic Texts…… on CD - Rom

Fr Pat Rogers C.P. has just completed a large computer-project on which he has been working steadily for the past three years. It is an electronic collection of "classic" or significant texts, mainly related to biblical, theological and historical matters, edited and now published by him both on the internet and in the form of a CD.

Looking at the website, one can immediately see that the extent of this project is truly amazing. It is a real treasure-trove of texts, including several versions of the Bible, a Bible Dictionary, the four Gospels in parallel; the Sunday Lectionary for the full three-year cycle; the most important writings of the Fathers of the Church; many theologians from Thomas Aquinas to Cardinal Newman; a whole range of classic spiritual writings (St Teresa, John of the Cross, etc) a large amount of Church History; lots of the best-known writings from the classical Greco-Roman authors (including the works of Flavius Josephus). There are also the plays of Shakespeare, a large poetry section, and a fiction section with the most important novelists from the 17th century until the early James Joyce.
