The Lime Tree

The Lime or Linden tree is a fairly tall tree with very sweetly scented flowers containing nectar which attracts bees from far and near. The flowering time is July. The leaves are bright green, broadly heart shaped, with toothed edges which are very soft to touch. The bark of the tree is greyish in colour. Some Lime trees are said to have lived for over 500 years.
