Watercress

The scientific name of watercress is Nasturtium Officinule and is a member of the cabbage family. It is found in large quantities at the back of many reed beds, its lanky stems adding to the general tangle of vegetation. Watercress can however be grown in any damp place, even in ordinary soil, where it sends out creeping branches which root along their length. Watercress grows small white flowers in early summer. Watercress is an easy plant to grow as damp soil is the main requirement for a successful growth.
