Roscommon centre after years of trying to send their Rose to Tralee finally succeeded in in 1999 when Olivia Burke from Ballyforan won the Galway final. The following year Roscommon were to win again, when Evelyn O'Connor from Ballyhaunis, took the Galway Rose title making it two in a row for this highly organised centre.
