Phutyle International Site Information.

This is the official Web presence of Phutyle International, incorporating the Media Research Facility, the Phutopian High Command (Phutopia), the MRF Gallery, The Nulliphidian Foundation and the University of Phutopia.

When this site was originally designed, a conscious effort was made to have it accessible to all, including those with older or less powerful hardware and software. In redesigning the layout of the site, however, a decision was made to put aesthetics over 100% assessability. While you do not require a state of the art 350 MHz computer with ISDN, we recommend that the site, (indeed any site), is best viewed using at least a 28.8 kbs modem and the latest version of your preferred browser (now that Netscape is free you have no excuse for using an inferior browser), to reap the benefits of JavaScript, Dynamic HTML and client side image maps, among other features. However, this site does not require any special plug-in or add-on, and no unusual file formats have been used. This site was also designed to be best viewed on a 15" monitor with a resolution of 800 x 600, at thousands of colours. And set your browser to view pictures; it may be slower, and in most cases there are text links to replace image maps, but you will see our site as it was meant to be seen.

The slow speed of downloading is a cause of annoyance right across the Internet, but when you think about it, accessing images, information and software from the Internet, no matter how slow, is much faster and more convenient than waiting for it to arrive by post, or making a journey to a library or shop. We live in an age where we are beginning to expect instant gratification in certain areas. It may come in the future, but until then we should keep in mind that the World Wide Wait is better than no Web at all.
