Anyone working in a hospital post or who feels they should be graded differently should get on to the head office of the Union Impact or talk to Patricia Barr in Sligo about arranging a group submission regarding job descriptions for 'Scientist' grades. Jean Hegarty has also been discussing gradings and can be contacted also if you are currently in an Audiologist grade. Presumably we can use some of the UK benchmarking/job description schemes without having to completely rewrite them.

Irish Society AGM and Committee meetings 2006.
The elected committee of Gary Norman, Jesudas Dayalan, Nina Reade, Jennifer Sim (Secretary), Jean Hegarty and Theresa Pitt have met on three occasions in 2006, the most recent being the last week in September. The main topic of discussion was the forthcoming meeting on 20th October on the topic of Neonatal Hearing Screening in the new Hilton Hotel, Dublin Airport (just off the M50 Malahide Road junction) followed by the AGM at 4.30 p.m.

Don't forget that the long-awaited UNHS report stating that neonatal screening DOES make sense is already published and with the politicians - many will make points in the Dail if their constituents request them.
