My Commerce degree was a 3 year general course on all academic areas of business, finance, information technology and accountancy. The fourth year involved choosing a subject to major in. I chose Management Information Systems (MIS) as my major.I went on from this to study two further years in MIS for a Masters. This involved a written thesis. My area of research was on Integrating Knowledge Based Systems and Decisions Support Systems in the area of Financial Planning.
