Goofs:

The following represents any technical goofs made in the movie. I'd just like to point out that I'm not deliberately pointing out flaws because they spoil the movie. I'm doing this because...well... I have no life. There! I said it! Happy now? More goofs will be added whenever I find them...

Flipped Negative:

  • Right before Kitano points to the board and says "Battle Royale!", keep an eye on his back. It appears that the negative was flipped (as Northfield Sports is written backwards) for this shot more than likely to cover a continuity error

Kiriyama Loses a Grenade:

  • In the scene where Kiriyama kills all of Numais gang, he picks up their weapons after the die. Amoungst the weapons are 2 grenades, which he puts into his bag. As he walks away, he slings the bag over his shoulder and one of them falls out. This only becomes a goof when later in the movie, he uses both grenades in the clinic...

On-Set Lighting Visable:

  • In the scene where Hirono confronts Mitsuko, keep your eyes fixed on the bottom of the frame in the above scene. Some on-set lighting is visable moving about down there...

Mimura Hits Iijima:

  • Just after Mimura types up Yutaka and Iijimas mission on his laptop, Mimura swipes at the two and says "Hurry". Notice Iijima touching his face? Thats because Mimura hit him! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!...

Wrong Photograph:

  • When Kawada decides to show Nanahara and Noriko the photo of himself and Keiko, he takes it out of his wallet. Look closely at the picture he takes out. Because of the light behind him, we can actually see the picture he is looking at, which is clearly not the one we see moments later...

Tripping Up:

  • Not technically a goof, but it wasn't intentional so I'm listing it here anyway. Just before Nanahara fights with Noriko, we see them making the trek South. The two walk up a hill and as Nanahara turns to look at Noriko, he trips over a rock. The next trip is done by the man himself, Takeshi Kitano. Just goes to show that even the experts can't always keep their balance. This is found in the scene where Kitano brings the umberella to Noriko. Watch as he walks down the small mound of slippy mud...
