Commercial Electric Operators :

Overhead Door Corporation manufactures an extensive line of commercial/industrial electric door operators and accessories. Models SEL and JST are recommended for the 592 Series door.

Model SEL- The Model SEL is a heavy-duty operator designed to operate standard torsion spring vehicular doors up to 850 pounds. Maximum height for standard doors is 18'.

Model JST- The Model JST is a heavy-duty operator designed to operate standard torsion spring vehicular doors up to 1400 pounds. Maximum height for standard doors is 21'.

Electric Door Operators

All Commercial Operators feature low voltage controls, manual override, chain hoist and safety clutch as standard.

Commercial Sectional Doors are also available as fully glazed doors for showrooms and fire station applications.



L+ Side Mount Plus

The Model L+ Plus heavy duty commercial operator is designed to operate standard torsion spring vehicular doors to approximately 425sq. ft., with a maximum door height of 25'11". The Model L+ plus is UL listed, and available in trolley or side and centre mount units.

Model L+ Plus

Features :

  • Reversing Contactor - Heavy-duty for long life, electrically and mechanically inter-locked.
  • Motor - Instant reversing, drip proof, with automatic reset thermal overload.
  • Clutch - Adjustable disc-type protects door and operator.
  • Limit Switches - Adjustable rotary-type with vernier adjustment. Remains synchronized with door during release operation. Allows easy addition of extra switches for accessory controls.
  • Hoist - For manual operation - optional inter-lock.
  • Power Train - Full ball bearing. Provides less friction and delivers more operational power.
  • Direct Coupling to Door Shaft - Allows for easy installation, prevents chain slacking. Optional chain and sprocket coupling for added versatility.




Operator Control Options

Push-button control stations

Overhead Door Corporation offers push-button control stations for almost every application. Control stations include standard three-button OPEN-CLOSE-STOP, flush and surface-mounted stations with one to three push-buttons for interior and exterior installations. Key switches are also available with or without stop button.

Entrapment Protection

All electric powered doors that are controlled by other than an OPEN-CLOSE-STOP or constant contact station within sight of the door, must have an entrapment protection system, either internal or external, that will stop or reverse a closing door if the door path is blocked by an object. This is required by UL 325 and by some state OSHA inspectors.

Electric Sensing Edge

The Electric Sensing Edge consists of metal foil contact strips mounted to opposing surfaces on a hollow, compressible foam rubber material. This is enclosed in a vinyl-coated nylon moisture barrier, extending the full width of the door. Upon contact with an obstruction, the contact strips touch together, which stops or reverses the doors downward travel. A four-wire sensing edge can be provided which indicates when the sensing edge system has failed or has contacted an obstruction.

Pneumatic Sensing Edge

The Pneumatic Sensing Edge consists of a combination compressible Neoprene weatherseal and sealed air chamber, extending the full width of the door and securely fastened to the edge of the door. Minimal change in the air chamber pressure, caused by contact with an obstruction, will activate the electric switch which stops or reverses the door's downward travel. (Can be used on doors up to 18' in width)

Photoelectric Sensors

These produce a non-visible beam across the door opening. An object in the path of the door will block the beam, which will activate a switch that stops or reverses a door's downward travel.
