Welcome

The Sacred Heart Secondary School is an all girls’ voluntary secondary school with approximately 530 students. Effective learning is made possible by our dedicated professional teaching staff and a discipline code centred on respect for self and others. We believe we provide quality education in a secure, caring environment, supportive of learning and where students can reach their full potential.

Parents’ involvement is an essential part of our approach. Money raised by our active Parents’ Council is used to employ extra teachers, increase subject choice and reduce pupil-teacher ratio. The result is that exceptionally high academic results are being achieved through the partnership of teachers, students and parents. This is evidenced by the fact that 90% of our students proceed to third level education with 47% taking degree level programmes in university.

This is, however, not all, for education received in the Sacred Heart School enhances not only academic achievement but also personal development and future employment opportunities. In short, it makes a difference in the lives of our girls.
