Our Sipmfl Project		To utilise ICT in introducing foreign languages to pupils in primary schools.
		To establish links between the participating schools with a view to exchanging and formulating lesson plans, ideas for class activities, games etc
		To establish links with primary schools in other countries in order to broaden the language experience for the participating pupils.
		The participating pupils will gain an enhanced knowledge of ICT and in particular the use of email and the Internet
		The pupils knowledge of foreign language and culture will be enhanced.
		Resource materials and teaching strategies will be developed.
		The European dimension of pupils education will be developed.
		Twinning projects with foreign primary schools will be initiated and developed
		Suitable software for language teaching will be identified and evaluated.

Our Anticipated outcomes are as follows :

Pupils will gain an increased knowledge of ICT and in particular the use of E-mail and the Internet.
Pupils' knowledge of foreign language and culture will be cultivated.
Resource materials and teaching stratagies will be developed for publishing to other schools.
The European dimension of the pupils' education will be developed.
Twinning projects with foreign primary schools will be initiated and developed.
Suitable software for language teaching will be identified and evaluated.

Driving Forces behind the Project

To facilitate greater European understanding among children.
To maintain and stimulate lasting pupil curiosity and enjoyment in Modern Languages using IT.
To create an atmosphere where pupils want to learn a European Language where they are active participants and in which the teaching staff enjoy teaching.
To enable our school community and local educational partners be active participants in a global technology based learning environment, which is relevant, challenging and stimulating.
To develop on a civic scale an appreciation of other cultures and races.
To raise the feel "feel good" factor of disadvantaged children by engaing in IT technology.

School lesson plans on the use of E-mail.
School lesson plans on the use of Database.
School lesson plans on the use of Spreadsheets.
Disemination meetings held in each school which received positive feedback from parents, pupils and teachers.
Investigation in websites dealing with the teaching of MFL and reviews on the same.
Establishing connections with schools in European countries in order to find suitable partners.
The creation of a website to publish and draw attention to the work of SIP 21.
Examination of the difficulties arising from the integration of ICT in the teaching of MFL in the ordinary school day.
