THE BASQUE TEAM WON THE BASQUE-IRISH HANDBALL-PELOTA ENCOUNTER

Commentary: Great ambiace and some hundreds of spectators in Azkoitia´s GUREA pelota alley. The match between the Basque and the Irish national teams attended the assitence of the Deputy of Sports of the Territory of Gipuzkoa, Fernando Tapia, the Major of Azkoitia, Asier Aranbarri, the irish vice-consul in Bilbao, Rocco Caira, the president of the National Basque Pelota Federation, Txema Aldamiz-Etxebarria, and the president of the Irish Handball Council. The Basque team won the trophy (3-0). Mikel Gonzalez was elected the best player of the tournament.

Compromise rules: Hardball of 60 grms. Backwall at 20 mtrs. Tell board on the front wall at 1 mtr to the floor.
