DINNER DANCE
Our long awaited dinner dance and presentation of medals is now almost upon us we are looking forward to a enjoyable night. The organising committee has requested that all those attending be in the Bloomfield House Hotel by 8.30 pm at the latest in order to get proceedings started as soon as possible.
PATRICK GUNNING MEMORIAL MATCH
On Saturday next the 20th of January (the day after the dinner dance) the Patrick Gunning Memorial Match will be played in Rochfortbridge commencing at 2.00 pm. This match ,now in its second year, is being played in memory of the late Patrick Gunning, whose death at such a young age greatly came as a great shock to his family and all who knew him. The Gunning Family presented a trophy to the club in memory of Patrick and it was decided to play a match each year between the members of the club with the winners receiving the trophy. This year, as last, the match will be between the veterans and the novices with an emphasis on getting as many of 1970’s era to line out and challenge this years championship winning team. Already veterans like Tommy Colgan, Ollie Gallagher, Ollie Egan, Vinny Bagnall, John Bradley, Colm Gavin have signified not alone their intention of playing but winning as well. Liam Maher has not yet announced which side he will play with as he qualifies to play with either side. In any event it should be an interesting encounter and everyone who wishes to take part will be more than welcome.
