Fe16 Hurling
On Sunday last at Clonkill we defeated Ringtown in the semi final of the fe 16 championship. In ideal conditions for the time of year both teams served up a good standard of hurling with the issue in doubt up until the very end. This panel has been together since under twelve and contains some fine skillful hurlers. In goals David Wright was assured and could not be faulted for the one that past him. The full back line of Shane Gleeson and John Peppard were strong and withstood some severe pressure particularly in the closing stages when Ring town endeavored to get that the goal that would put them back in contention. The half back line of Kevin Reid, Gavin Hoey and Trevor Gonoud played with great determination not letting the Ringtown half forward line settle on the ball. At centrefield Michael Malone and Damien Keegan never stopped trying going forward at every opportunity and back helping their defence whenever necessary. Our half forward line of Andy Devine, Drew Morgan and Aaron Gavin hurled with confidence throughout and their ability to run with the ball caused many problems for the Ringtown defence. The full forward line David Glennon and Robert Reid were always a threat both notching up some fine scores. Substitute Derek Gallagher never stopped trying when introduced and was rewarded with a goal for his efforts. The rest of the panel was as follows, Kieran Geraghty, James Troy, Christopher Gallagher and James Leogue.
Fe 21 and Fe 16 Finals.
While normally by November the hurls and helmets of St Brigids players are consigned to storage for another year, this year makes a pleasant exception when we find ourselves in not one but two county final this coming weekend. On Saturday afternoon next we play Cullion in the final of the fe 21 championship and on Sunday we play Crookedwood in the final of the fe 16 championship. (See fixtures for details). It is a long time ago since two St Brigids teams contested county finals on the one weekend and the fact that it has now happened bears testament to the efforts of both the players and mentors of both teams. On behalf of everyone involved in the club we wish both teams well and win or loose it augers well for the future of hurling in the locality.

We held a very successful table quiz in Wallaces Dalystown on Friday last. The club wishes to express its gratitude to everyone who supported the event, to Tommy and Martha Mangan for the use of their premises and to Declan Fletcher who sponsored the prizes, set the questions and acted as quizmaster for the night.
Condolences
The club wishes to express its sympathy to the family of the late Eamon Cooney Carrick..
