FAMILY HISTORY

The photograph is of my Granda when he was eight years old. The photo was taken in a studio in Wexford, when he made his First Holy Communion. The photo is 71 years oldand I also have a photo of my Granda when he was 21 years old. His parents died when he was young and he was raised by his Uncle, Charlie Kelly. Some of his brothers and sisters went to a home for children.
His sister Julie moved to England where she married and raised her family. She died a year ago. Her daughter had a hotel in Northampton. His brother Michael joined the army and he also got married and he had no sons or daughters. His wife took ill and she was confined to a wheelchair. Michael looked after her until she died. Michael passed away on the 11th January 1993 aged 80 years. He lived at 30 Ross Road, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
His sister, Mary, moved to England where she met her husband, George. They both worked for the Royal family and when they retired, they received a silver tray. They moved back to Wexford in 1993. A year or so later, Mary died. On the 15th of January, 1999, my Granda, Tom Power died, aged 77 years. His brother Stephen married and lived in 7 lower Ross Road, Enniscorthy until he died at the age of 60 years on the 3rd December, 1969.
