closely fought contest saw Kilmore, now managed
by ex-county man Fergal O'Donnell, capture the
remaining senior title of 2002, ending
Strokestown hopes of an historic
treble.

The most successful year in
the clubs history just got better on Saturday
12th as Strokestown managed to
capture the all-county league 2002.The
match posed also as a 2003 O'Rourke Cup 3rd
round in an attempt to lighten the fixtures
load.
This leaves Strokestown as
Roscommon Senior double winners for 2002 as well
as capturing the U-21 division 2
title.
Easter Monday sees the Town
taking on Kilmore in an effort to capture the
Senior Treble.

in the All-Ireland club championship.

In a match
where the old cliche, 'A game of two halves' found new meaning,
Strokestown narrowly beat Eastern Harps by 8 points to 7 to put
the Town through to the Connacht final for the first time in the
clubs history. Emmet Collins was the man of the moment when he
pointed in the last minute to the relief of the strokestown
contingent.
County
Final
The Town beat all odds to become County
Champions for the first time since 1992 in what
was a serious reversal of fortune since the
beginning of the season.
