Strokestown GAA Senior Club AGM took place on Saturday 4th January 2003 in the Percy French Hotel with a wonderful turnout of players and supporters.

The meeting was upbeat after a fantastic year of success. The chairman gave a rousing address and congratulated and thanked everybody that made the year what it was.

The following officers were elected:

Delegates to Northern Board: Tommy Gilleran and Buddy Dolan.

Senior Team Manager Pat Doorey.

Selectors: Buddy Dolan, Tommy Gilleran and Sean Collins.

Junior : Martin Shiel.

Selectors: Shane Flaherty / Leo Shiel

U 21 : Damian Donlon and Martin Fallon.

Our u21 match was cancelled due to weather conditions keep an eye on local papers for further fixtures.

The club extends sympathy to Pat Doorey on the recent death of his father.

Our Stephen’s day match of 1992 v 2002 was a great success. Congratulations to Tom Hanly on winning the prestigious award of “Man of the Match”. The money raised on the day went to the Roscommon /Mayo Hospice. A special word of thanks to the ladies who did the catering.

The club are very grateful to Tom Hanly for the use of a dry field to train while our pitch is out of action.

The club would like to wish anyone associated with the club whether as sponsors, supporters, players and mentors a Very Happy New Year and we look forward to your continued support in 2003.

February 2003. tickets price 10euro. Membership must be paid to be included in the draw. Membership now due 20euro Adult, 10euro Student.
