Louth County Council carried out the followning works in Ardee during 1997.
Resurfacing road works were carried out at various locations throughout the town including; New Dawsons Demesne, Campbell's Park, Sean O'Carroll Street, Old Chapel Lane, St. Vincent's Road, Market House Lane, Railway Lane, Kells Road, Sliabh Breagh and De La Salle Crescent.
New footpaths were provided out at Bridge Street, Sliabh Breagh and Dundalk Road.
Tree planting was carried out along the Riverside Walk. A footbridge was provided at Moorehall with the assistance of a number of local organisations.
Ardee sits on the River Dee and comprises of some, 1,175 acres and 3443 population.
Ardee Town Commission meet on the second Wednesday of every month and also hold annual and estimates meetings. During 1997, the commissioners own property located at the Fairgreen, Riverside Walk and College Park. At various intervals throughout 1997 the Fairgreen was rented to companies e.g. circuses, amusement arcades, carnivals, etc..
