Education
Leaving Certificate 1995 - 6 honours.
I am currently a student in DIT Aungier Street. I hope to graduate in June 2000 with a B.Sc. Comm. (Jrnl).
 

Interests and achievements
I represented my school at inter-provincial level in 1994 when I played rugby for Connacht.
I have received an Gaisce from the President, Mrs McAleese, who presented me with the gold award at a ceremony in Dublin Castle, in January 1998.
I was successful is setting up a student Chapel in college and was elected FOC in January 1999.
 

Journalistic experience
Radio - I have worked as a news reporter and as political editor for DIT FM (college radio).
I completed a one-week work experience programme in East Coast Radio, Bray, where I worked as journalist.

Print - I worked for the Connacht Tribune as a staff reporter during summer 1997 and 1998. I also worked in feature and sports writing there.
I have written features and in-depth interviews for the sports magazine, Highball.
I have worked both as a reporter and a sub-editor for the DIT Examiner, a DIT students' newspaper.
I was given the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands in February 1998 to participate in a six-month training course, which was run in conjunction with the European Commission. The course included theory on a variety of media as well as producing a news magazine entitled Yourope. I was layout editor of the edition.
I have worked as a reporter, a sub- and sports editor with the Liberty, a newspaper produced by journalism students in DIT.

Online - In October 1998 I attended an international journalism print project in Finland, entitled Euroreporter. I was online editor of the edition.
I am currently the online editor of the Liberty. I was responsible for putting the paper online in February 1999, and it was recently awarded a "4 shamrock" award by Doras, Telecom Internet's website directory.
