16 - 18 March 2012 - Whangamata, Waikato, New Zealand
The focus of WOODSTOKE, the New Zealand Society of Potters 2012 Conference - will be alternative firing with an emphasis on woodfiring, including anagama, raku, salt and soda. Guests include Janet Mansfield, Chester Nealie, Yuri Wiedenhofer, Darryl Frost, Mike O'Donnell, Duncan Shearer, Maureen Allison and Janet Smith. Events will include several firings, master classes, the opening of the NZSP National Exhibition and a visit to Barry Brickell's Driving Creek Pottery.

'Woodstoke 2012' New Zealand Pre-conference workshops:
5 - 8 March - Tirau, Waikato

Building and firing a Train-type kiln with Robert Sanderson and Coll Minogue on a farm near Tirau. Also talks and presentations.

9 - 13 March - Paeora, Waikato
Kiln packing and firing workshop with Chester Nealie and Mike O'Donnell at Mike's workshop in Paeora.

13 - 15 March - Whangamata, Waikato
Salt and Soda workshop with Duncan Shearer and Janet Smith. Participants will make and slip/glaze work; build small kilns (wood/diesel fired); fire; and unpack during the Woodstoke 2012.
