Who
is Tom Halliday?
He is Ireland's leading caricaturist and political cartoonist. His work combines a fine artistic knack, coupled with a keen and sharp eye for the humour in politics, which has made him Ireland's favourite for several years.
In 1995 he published 'Trading Faces', a selection of political cartoons and caricatures, charting the colourful Reynolds to Rainbow years. Copies of this are available for purchase.
Aside from his newspaper work, Tom likes to get involved in local projects and initiatives. In 1997 and 1998 he organised the West Cork Cartoon festival, in which some of the world's top cartoonists and comic book artists displayed their works, and gave impromptu workshops.
Tom was comissioned to design a corporate mascot for Skibbereen Business Committee, and came up with the popular 'Skibby the Eagle'
