seashore in front of the Camp Site leads to the beach at Rath. There are lots of small
harbours and beaches in the surrounding district with swimming, sea fishing and all forms
of watersports available. |

Near the village of Castlecove is one of the most spectacular examples of
ancient Irish structures - Staigue Fort. Dating as far back as 500BC, it was a vital
refuge from both potential invaders and the elements for its dwellers of that time.
Other impressive stone forts worth a visit include Leacanbuile Stone Fort and Cahergeal in
Caherciveen and Loher near Waterville. |
