"The Village"

The workshop will be held in the small rural village of Ballinaclash, in an old schoolhouse built in 1844,
which has ample space for 5 to 6 students.

The village is in a beautiful country setting surrounded by wooded mountains and small green fields, two miles from Rathdrum.

It is very small consisting of one small shop which is also the pub. It is close to the famous Meeting of the Waters. The area is a noted tourist destination associated with literary figures, e.g. Thomas Moore, poet and song writer, and John Millington Synge, playwright, and Buck Whaley, a notorious playboy and gambler of the 17th century.

In the next village, Avoca, the now famous television series “Ballykissangel” was filmed.

The workshop itself is in a country garden setting and is secluded while being adjacent to the local shop and pub. It is an ideal setting for a workshop and will be relaxing and an inspiration to participants.

Students may book extra weeks if spaces are available.
