The wheelbarrow was a common  method of transporting all your possessions across the desert and through bush to where rumour suggested, fortunes were yet to be made.
 

 

Panning for gold was a little tricky when no water was available.  These 'Dryblowers' used wind to blow away the light fraction, hopefully leaving the heavier gold behind.
Paddy Hannan, the man who first discovered gold at Kalgoorlie, plants a commemorative tree at the very spot where he picked up the first nuggets.
