Naming of the road

Located on the Atlantic's Edge, with the twelve bens in the Backround, is the town of Clifden in County Galway. It was near Clifden , in 1919, that the first men to fly across the Atlantic non-stop, Alcock and Brown, landed. The Irish version of Clifden is "an Clochan" which means "The Stepping Stones"
