83rd Summer Recital Season 2010
Free hour-long recitals will take place on Sundays at 4.30 p.m. from May to September and are usually given by Adrian Gebruers KSG, who in 2010 is celebrating his 40th year as Cathedral Carillonneur. A closed-circuit system is in operation showing the carillonneur playing the instrument. This can be viewed inside the Cathedral at the base of the tower - turn right as you enter through the main door.
The recital on Sunday 13 June will include a Carillon Tribute to Aloys Fleischmann (1910-1992), as part of the celebrations marking the centenary year of his birth. There will be a special recital on 29 August to mark National Heritage Week.
As always, there will also be a number of guest recitals presented by leading international carillonneurs, as follows:-
Sunday July 4th: Malgosia Fiebig (Poland). Award-winning International Concert Carillonneur, one of the finest of the new generation of Polish carllonneurs.
Sunday July 18th: Treasa Edmonds. 2007 Winner of the Staf Gebruers Memorial Carillon Student Award.
