Holiday Activities:
Holiday activities and trips, organised and guided by us, for Learning Guests, take place in the afternoons and evening, Monday to Friday.
Guests choose from the list of activities, the costs of which are included in the course fees. These include:
Traditional
Irish Music/Visit to Irish Pub:
Ashlingua
Tutors and family are accomplished musicians. We have a special love and
interest in Traditional Irish Music,
Dance and Culture. Guests will be taken to traditional Irish Music Sessions
in a genuine Irish Pub. Irish music lessons (vocal and instrumental) are
available as part of your stay at Ashlingua.
Horse
Riding or Pony Trekking:
Indoor
or outdoor.
Tennis:
Available
at Ashlingua
(on site).
Cycling:
Scenic
routes and quiet country roads.
Walking:
Planned
route available. Castlebar is home of the Annual
Castlebar International 4 Day Walking Festival.
Golf:
For
beginners, Pitch and Putt or full 18-hole round of golf for the more experienced.
Sightseeing:
Trips
to areas of spectular scenery and places of historical interest.
Bowling:
Indoor
Bowling Centre - for fun and relaxation.
Theatre:
Planned
visits to contemporary Irish Drama and shows.
Swimming:
Indoor
swimming pool and leisure centre. Outdoor swimming at Blue Flag beaches
(weather permitting).
